Who We Are
In 1962, Doyle Busskohl had the idea to take people on a tour to the World’s Fair in Seattle, WA. That was the beginning of Allied Tour & Travel. Over the next 50 plus years, the company grew to include guided tours to a variety of destinations in North America and other international locations. Although we still specialize in group tours, over the years we’ve expanded our services.
Today Allied Tour & Travel offers tours, cruise & vacation packages, custom group tour planning, hotel, car and airline reservations for travel throughout the United States, Canada, Europe and other international destinations. Honeymoon and destination wedding packages are another service our consultants are very capable and excited to help design. Our experienced and knowledgeable travel consultants have years of experience planning vacations which takes the hassle out of your vacation.
Allied also offers experienced group travel planners to help create group travel experiences for small to large groups. Whether it is a family reunion in Cancun or a corporate retreat in Florida, a bank club taking a trip to New England, a school group wanting to visit Washington, DC, or something else, Allied can handle all the details and take the frustration out of group travel. Groups are commonly in the 15-50 size although we have handled much larger groups. Our biggest was 1,000 passengers for the Nebraska National Championship football game in 1995.
And speaking of football, Allied began offering Husker football tours in the 1960’s. Each year we offer several away games and bowl game packages. Pro baseball tours are also offered each year.
Allied is currently owned and operated by Doyle & Jane Busskohl’s son, Dave Busskohl and daughter, Susan Busskohl. Their corporate office located in Norfolk, NE. Vickie Bivens, Agency Manager, has been in the industry since 1977. Company President, Dave Busskohl, started his career in the travel industry in 1983. Vice President Susan Busskohl has worked with individual and group travel since 1986. A second office is located in Lincoln, NE, and managed by Brent Kalemkiarian, Vice President, with over 30 years of industry experience. Currently, there are 11 additional staff serving as tour directors.

Our professional team of tour directors will make sure your tour runs just right. Plus, they will help you get to know your fellow travel mates and make you feel like part of a traveling family. Their service will enhance your vacation because they love what they do. For cruises and selected tours, a tour director is confirmed for 16 or more travelers.
